Automating Google map generation and auto clustering

National Pet Month is a charity to promote responsible pet ownership and make people aware of the benefits of pets for people and people for pets.

Making data accessible for users

Individuals and organisations run their own events during National Pet Month and can register these events on the site.

To make it really easy for users to find out what’s on there’s no better means than a map.  However sometimes with Google maps there are just too many items in a confined area making it difficult to see the wood from the trees.

We built a system that:

• Automatically generates geo location from the postcodes
• Clusters events into summaries at certain zoom levels
